AUTHOR BIO:

Shea Berkley started out writing nonfiction (not so fun) and quickly moved into fiction (totally fun), and knew she'd found her calling. (Her family was thrilled she'd found friends to play with even if they weren't technically real.) She's still pleasantly surprised people are willing to pay to read her stories. Besides writing, her many diversions include kickboxing, reading awesome books and hanging out with her loud and rambunctious family. With five kids (all girls), her biggest job is to make sure the little darlings don't harass the neighbors and then play dumb when the cops come knocking on her door.

Question: Your house is burning down and you have time to select three books you own to take with you. What three books? - Suggested by Alison Can Read.

Answer: This is a tough question to answer! I would probably bring one of my Twilight books (either the first or last book), the most recent book that I read and loved so much, Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover, and The One by Kiera Cass. :)

***What book would you take with you?***

“Sorry, what?” I look between Kipton and Cara. They both glance at me curiously, but don’t ask any questions. Even if they did, I’m not sure I’d have the guts to tell them about the darkness that haunts my past. It’s safer to push it away.
“What if I have you home early?” Kipton asks.
I shrug my shoulders, unsure with my decision at this point. The angel on my right shoulder is telling me to go to bed early and focus on my training. Of course the devil on the left has me picturing every inch of him naked. I have to stop this. My hormones have been in overdrive since he caught me in my towel. “I’ll think about it.” It’s a smart answer. This way, I leave my options open but don’t have to commit yet.
“I’m definitely in,” Cara adds with a clap of her hands and a shake of her ass. “And if I have any say in it, so are you, Sophie.”
Kipton rolls his eyes but waits until Cara turns around to hang more clothes in the closet. When she’s out of view, he mouths the word come and immediately I’m covered in goose bumps. I nod my head, accepting the invitation. My body answers before my brain has a chance to catch up. What did I agree too?
“Have a good night, ladies.” Before he closes the door completely, I let out the breath I’ve been holding. I throw myself onto my bed, realizing the earthy scent of his cologne has seeped into my bedding. If I close my eyes, it’s as if he’s still laying here with me. Inhaling deeply, I cuddle my pillow against my chest. Mid sniff, the door to our room swings open. Kipton grabs his keys off the top of the TV stand and winks at me. “Won’t get too far without these. See-ya tomorrow.”
“Bye, Kippy.” Cara practically sings from her closet. She’s on cloud nine about this party. I, on the other hand, am in serious trouble. Mortified, I roll over to face the window, hearing Kipton chuckle as the door closes.
He caught me sniffing my pillow.

Release Date: February 26th 2015
Pages: 229
Genres: Comedy, New Adult, Romance

All of our best dates end up in the emergency room....

I planned the perfect proposal. Plenty of lobster, caviar, champagne and--her favorite--tiramisu. The perfect setting. The perfect woman. The perfect everything.

Dad gave me my late mother's engagement ring, platinum and diamonds galore. Shannon wouldn't care if I slid a giant hard-candy ring on her finger instead of a three-carat diamond designed to impress. But my future mother-in-law, Marie, will pass out when she sets eyes on that rock, which will give us two minutes of blessed silence. That woman talks more than Kim Kardashian flashes her naked backside on the internet.

I was going to make it perfect, from the color of the tablecloth to the freshness of the roses. And it was perfect.

Until Shannon swallowed the ring.

{EXCERPT}

Something feels off. I sit up, moonlight streaming through the expanse of glass behind my headboard, the ticking silence of the middle of the night grey and ethereal. My mouth is dry and my skin tingles with danger.

My own home isn’t safe.

Clicking sounds in the distance pierce my closed bedroom door. I quietly open my closet and pull out the aluminum baseball bat I store in there for moments like this.

Whatever this is.

Later, I realize I should have called 911. But when you’re in the haze of being woken by a home invasion, you don’t think clearly.

Besides, evolution has primed me for this very moment. Testosterone oozes out of my pores. This is a moment men imagine from the time they’re small little beasts with superhero capes and nerf guns.

Defending our turf.

Quiet as a ninja, I walk on the balls of my feet, opening my bedroom door and proceeding down the hall. Andrew is silent, too, his feet hanging off the end of my couch, the blanket pooled on the floor beneath him. His mouth is open and he’s drooling a little, my nice leather sleek and shiny in the moonlight.

He’s useless against the seven-foot, muscled cat burglar who is obviously here to steal my soul and my valuable electronics.

My eyes dart to the door, where an inch of light from the hallway peeks in, illuminating the library table where I dump my mail.

A knee appears, with a shiny high heel at the foot.

Interesting cat burglar.

Then more knee. A thigh. Hips that make hot blood pound through me, the rest of Shannon entering the room on tip toes. She rotates and closes the door with such precision I start to wonder if she breaks into people’s houses for a living.

I flatten myself against the wall where she can’t see me, and slowly set the baseball bat on a small wool area carpet. We’re both creeping around my apartment in silence, but for very different reasons now.

She cuts behind the couch and stands in front of the breakfast bar, slipping off her trench coat.

Oh, sweet merciful universe.

She is naked except for the high heels.

Merry Christmas in August.

Those come-fuck-me pumps are candy apple red and scream out my name. No, really. I can hear them, tiny little voices that only my now-rising-to-the-occasion little head can hear. It’s like those shoes communicate on a radio frequency that my testicles can tune into.

And...I’m at attention.

What is she doing here?

“Shannon?” I whisper, stepping out into the moonlight, hoping I don’t scare her.

She startles and freezes, hand on one breast over her heart. Her hair is loose and flowing, and she’s curled it. She painted her face, eyes big and bright, lips red and stunning.
She shifts her weight to one hip, eager and a little shy, but also bold.

“Let’s make up,” she says, squaring her shoulders. “And happy birthday!”

Happy Birthday?

Oh, man. That’s right. I’d completely forgotten.

Andrew’s head pops up from the other side of the couch and he gapes at Shannon. “Dec? You hired a stripper? I knew you and Shannon were on the outs, but damn, man, you can’t just—”

“AAAAIIIIEEEEEEEE!” Shannon screams. If this whole marrying a billionaire and working in corporate America thing doesn’t work for her, she has a future in horror films.

Surf & Surrender by Riley Edgewood

Release Date: February 23rd 2015
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

She wants to forget he ever existed. He'd never give up her memory.

Quinn Westwood is completely over Sawyer Carson. He broke her heart years ago and disappeared from her life without a word. So yeah. She's over him. Never even thinks of him. In fact, she's spending her college summer break surfing and lifeguarding in the Outer Banks, while nursing a bruised heart from a different relationship gone wrong. She doesn't have room in her mind or heart for Sawyer—until she runs into him at a beach bonfire and the sparks that fly between them are way hotter than the flames heating the sand.

Sawyer never got over Quinn. The only thing stronger than what he feels for her is the secret keeping them apart, but sharing it would destroy more than just his life—it'd ruin hers, as well. Still, he can't seem to keep away from her, can't seem to keep his hands off of her soft, tempting skin. Especially since she has even less self-control when it comes to reigniting the physical side of what made them perfect together.

But secrets have a way of slipping out, and when Sawyer's is revealed it threatens to shatter everyone involved. He'll have to face walking away a second time, and Quinn will have to decide if fighting for him is worth it when the fallout could affect more than just her heart, but also those of the people she loves most.

QUINN

"Sorry." God, it burns, apologizing to him. A small flare of anger makes it easier to look back up into his face.

He's staring at my neck and swallowing. He used to have a fascination with kissing me just above my collarbone. I drag a finger across the skin, fighting a smirk when his eyes follow the motion. I wonder if he's thinking about it now.

I am.

Damn it.

"Guess it's easy to make assumptions about what you might mean, given your track record of being so forthcoming." There. Situation fixed. Now his gaze is heavy on mine, and even a little pissed.

Good. Anger's better than the other thing.

"New wakeboard. That's why you're here, right?" His tone is as pointed as his expression.

"Are you working?" I ask, just as pointedly. "You've still got sand on your chest." He does. A dusting of brown sand I'm dying to brush away with my fingers. "Kind of unprofessional."

"I walked in from lunch literally five minutes before you got here, Quinn." He unwraps his towel and even though I try so hard not to, I glance down. Board shorts. Obviously he wasn't naked. God. "Is this better?"

"You might want to try putting on a shirt."

"Last time you were all take off your shirt, Sawyer, and now it's put your shirt on, Sawyer." He smirks. "Hard to tell how to please you these days."

"Pretty sure you know exactly how to please me." The sentence just slips out and hangs in the air between us…
