Review: The Way You Look Tonight by Bella Andre

The Way You Look Tonight
by Bella Andre
Released Date: Published June 19th 2013 by Oak Press, LLC
Series: The Sullivans #9,
Pages: 194
View/Purchase: Goodreads, Amazon, B&N

As a very successful private investigator who has caught most of the cheaters in Seattle with their pants down, Rafe Sullivan believes true, lasting love only happens once in a blue moon. Needing to get away from the city to clear his head, he finds the lake house where he spent the best summers of his life is now a wreck...but the sweet girl next door is all grown up and prettier than anything he's ever seen.

While Brooke Jansen is happy making and selling chocolate truffles in her small Pacific Northwest lake town, she secretly longs to experience something wild. So when her favorite “Wild Sullivan” moves in again next door after more than a decade away, and sparks fly between them, she can't stop wondering if being bad is really as good as it always seemed...and just how long it will be before she can find out.

But when their summer fling quickly spirals into deeper emotions than either of them were expecting, can they survive the heat between them? Or will Rafe make the biggest mistake of his life and end up losing the best thing that's ever happened to him?

(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

In The Way You Look Tonight we meet Rafe Sullivan, a successful private investigator whose work has been taking a told on him ever since the majority of his clients are having affairs or just want to flirt with him. When his sister suggests he takes a break from his career, he finds himself traveling to back to his childhood vacationing home in the Pacific Northwest. Having not been there for a while, he is surprised to find the place in utter mess, but what surprises him the most is seeing his childhood friend, Brooke Jansen.

While Brooke Jansen is happy living in her small town selling chocolate truffles, she wasn't expecting to find her old childhood friend moving back in next door. She has always missed spending time with the Sullivans, but when her old crush moves back, she is determined to make him see that they are perfect for each other. As the two start to spend more time together, sparks fly and soon they find each other hard to resist. But Rafe trust issues need to be resolve if he wants to keep Brooke by his side.

I really enjoyed reading the book, Bella Andre did an amazing job describing the characters and their back story that I found myself relating to them. Each Sullivan book is unique in the way is structured that I always find myself eager to read each and every one of them. There is something for everyone in each other books. From the story to the writing, The Way You Look Tonight is a must read.

Kingdom Series Collection: Books 1-3

by
Her Mad Hatter:
Alice is all grown up. Running the Mad Hatter's Cupcakery and Tea Shoppe is a delicious job, until fate--and a fairy godmother with a weakness for bad boys--throws her a curveball. Now, Alice is the newest resident of Wonderland, where the Mad Hatter fuels her fantasies and thrills her body with his dark touch.

The Mad Hatter may have a voice and a body made for sex, but he takes no lovers. Ever. But a determined fairy godmother has forced Alice into Wonderland--and his arms. Now, as desire and madness converge, the Hatter must decide if he will fight the fairy godmother's mating--or fight for Alice.

Gerard's Beauty:

A not so classic retelling of Beauty and the Beast, as seen through the eyes of the villain... Betty Hart has had it with men. Jilted in love, her life now consists of shelving books by day, watching too much Anime by night, and occasionally dressing up like a superhero on the weekends with her fellow ?Bleeding Heart? nerds. Men are not welcome and very much unwanted. Especially the sexy Frenchman who saunters into her library reeking of alcohol and looking like he went one too many rounds in the ring.

Gerard Caron is in trouble. Again. Caught with his pants down (literally) he?s forced to seek asylum on Earth while his fairy godmother tries to keep Prince Charming from going all ?Off with his head?. Maybe, messing around with the King?s daughter hadn?t been such a great idea after all, not that Gerard knew the silly redhead was a princess. But his fairy godmother knows the only way to save his life is to finally pair Gerard with his perfect mate, whether he?s willing or not.

From the moment Gerard lays eyes on the nerdy librarian he knows he must have her, but Betty is unlike any woman he?s ever known. He thought Betty would come as willingly to his bed as every other woman before her, but she is a woman who demands respect and even? horror of all horrors? love. Is it possible for a self-proclaimed Casanova to change his ways?

Red and Her Wolf:

Long ago there lived a beautiful child. Her name was Violet. Fair of skin, with blonde hair and large blue eyes. Born of wild magic, she was a woman with a child?s heart. Innocent and lovely, but not at all what she seemed--you see Violet went by another name: The Heartsong.
She was the child of fairy magic, the physical manifestation of all fae kinds unbridled power. Cosseted and pampered, she grew up in isolation, never knowing who she really was, or why there were those who?d seek to harm her.

Ewan of the Blackfoot Clan is a wolf with a problem. He?s been sent to kill the Heartsong, but the moment he lays eyes on the blonde beauty he knows he?ll defy the evil fae he works for to claim Violet as his own.

This is the tale of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, as it really happened...

Review: Always On My Mind by Bella Andre

Always On My Mind
by Bella Andre
Released Date: Published March 5th 2013 by Amazon Digital Services, Inc.
Series: The Sullivans #8
Pages: 214
View/Purchase: Goodreads, Amazon, B&N

Lori “Naughty” Sullivan finally falls in love in ALWAYS ON MY MIND, the new book in Bella Andre’s New York Times and USA Today bestselling series about the Sullivan family.

After a tragic loss three years ago, Grayson Tyler left his life in New York City behind and started over in the rolling hills of the California coast. He's convinced himself that all he'll ever need again is the blue sky, a thousand acres of pasture, and the crashing waves of the ocean. Until one day, Lori Sullivan barges into his life and promptly blows his emotionless and solitary world to shreds, driving him crazy as only a woman nicknamed “Naughty” can. But will Lori be able to convince him that it's safe to love her...and that forever isn't actually out of reach?

(Synopsis taken from Goodreads)

My Review:

I really enjoyed reading Always On My Mind, Bella Andre is by far one of my favorite authors and this book didn't disappoint at all. The characters are once again likable and hard to resist.
Lori Sullivan or “Naughty” and Grayson Tyler story is one of two souls trying to start fresh. When Lori decided to leave everything behind, including her career for the hills of the California coast, she wasn't expecting to find herself challenged by Grayson Tyler. He has lived in a farm for the last three years, isolated from the town after having moved there from New York. He only interacts with a handful of people there, but that soon changes when Lori comes into his life.

The two have strong-headed personalities that pulls them closer. Lori is outspoken and doesn't give up easily;whereas, Grayson goes for what he wants. They have their pasts that they want to move away from, but first they need to stop denying their attraction towards one another. Their relationship is realistic that is easy to relate to. I immediately found myself liking Grayson, after his tragic past, he succumbs to living by himself and his animals. With a big heart like his, it was impossible to stop reading the book. Naughty is such a strong character, who is also very kind and will protect those that she loves the most. All in all, Always On My Mind will you wanting for more, from the writing to the characters' personalities, the book has it all. I highly recommend it, along with the other books in the series.

Blog Tour: London Falling by Chanel Cleeton {REVIEW + GIVEAWAY}

London Falling
by Chanel Cleeton
Release Date: July 7th 2014 by Harlequin HQN
Series: I See London #2
Pages: 282

We weren't a relationship, we were a ticking time bomb...

Maggie Carpenter walked away from the hottest encounter of her life when she left the seductive glitz of England for summer break in her South Carolina hometown. Now that she’s returned to the International School in London—and sexy, privileged Samir Khouri is once again close enough to touch—she can’t help but remember the attraction, the drama … the heartbreak.

She can’t help but want him even more.

Samir can’t afford to fall for someone so far removed from his world, not when his time in London is running out. It's his senior year—his last chance at freedom before he returns home to Lebanon. There, he’ll be expected to follow in his father’s footsteps—not follow his heart to Maggie. But when a scorching secret hookup becomes a temptation neither can resist, they’ll both have to fight to survive the consequences … and find a future together.

Don’t miss this explosive sequel to I See London, and the riveting conclusion to Maggie and Samir’s story. This is a New Adult romance recommended for readers 17 and up.

My Review:

I absolutely loved London Falling, it was even better and more emotional than the first book, I See London. Chanel Cleenton did an amazing job writing this book, it was more focused on Maggie and Samir's relationship, where as the first book felt more of a adventure for Maggie and the start of her love for Samir.

In London Falling, Maggie returns to London after spending her summer vacation in South Carolina with her grandparents. Now that she is back, she'll have to deal with seeing Samir after their night together and deal with the consequences. But as their undeniable attraction for each other grows more, the more drama and heartbreak they face.

Learning that Samir can never be hers, Maggie tries everything to avoid being around Samir, but it's evident that even as friends they can't be away from each other. So instead, Samir comes up with an idea that will either help them be together or hurt them in the end. As everyone around Maggie returns for another year at the International School, she'll be facing with the hardest decision of her life.

I really enjoyed reading London Falling, it was such a page-turner for me that kept me up all night. I just had to read what was going to happen next. Chanel Cleenton did a good job describing realistic issues that couples might go through, in reference to choosing the one that you love over one's own family. There were a lot of decisions that Maggie and Samir had to make and the twists in the book made it that much more exciting/enjoyable to read. The settings were well throughout as well as the descriptions, that's one thing that I really liked about both books, the descriptions are spot on. Not only is the book very well-written, but the emotional aspect of the book made me care for the characters and see where they end. Overall, the book was great and I highly recommend both books if you're looking for something to do with traveling, glamour, romance, drama, friendships, and twists! (Or if you just love London as much as I do) :D

Chanel Cleeton

Originally a Florida girl, CHANEL CLEETON moved to London where she received a bachelor’s degree from Richmond, The American International University in London and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Chanel fell in love with London and planned to stay there forever, until fate intervened on a Caribbean cruise, and an American fighter pilot with smooth dance moves swept her off her feet. Now, a happily ever after later, Chanel is living her next adventure in South Korea.

Law school made Chanel realize she’d rather spend her days writing sexy stories than in a courtroom, and she hasn’t looked back since. An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she’s happiest curled up with a book. She has a weakness for handbags, her three pups, and her fighter pilot husband. Chanel writes New Adult contemporary romances and thrillers.

She is the author of I SEE LONDON and LONDON FALLING, published by Harlequin HQN, and FLIRTING WITH SCANDAL, the first book in a new NA series to be released by Berkley in 2015.

Love, Lex

by
This summer, I’d planned to celebrate my eighteenth birthday in Europe with my fellow Manhattanites—Taddy Brill, Blake Morgan, and Vive Farnworth—until I caught my boyfriend screwing my mother. According to the police report, this vomit-inducing incident happened around the same time I’d supposedly blown-up my mother’s penthouse. Like I’m walking around Soho with a stick of dynamite in my Louis Vuitton purse—not! Now, my besties and I are in jail.

Officer Ford Gotti, the Harley-wheelin’ biker cop who arrested us, keeps sticking his perfectly-sculpted nose into my case. His inked body is jacked like a superhero, and he says I can trust him. He wants me to fess up. I won’t. Not again. Why should I? My friends and I had a previous stint in juvie that nearly destroyed us. I gotta protect them and keep my mouth shut. Right? —Lex Easton, women’s studies major, motorcycle enthusiast, and virgin.

The Undergrad Years is a New Adult contemporary miniseries about first loves, independence, and everlasting friendships.

Reader warning: Contains mature content intended for readers 17 and up.
